CURRICULUM GUIDES
Rivers West curriculum guides help Canadian teachers use the Red River as an example when teaching the Manitoba curriculum.

NEW FOR FALL 2010: French ressource guide for Places historiques au long de la rivière Rouge (sciences sociales - 4 à 6 année)

All three guides provide local information, encourage hands-on site-based learning and contain hundreds of activities and fieldtrip ideas that match curriculum outcomes. Check out the award winning "Habitat Means Home" guide (grade 4 science)  Red River Basin Water System guide (grade 8 science) and the new Historic Places of the Red River-vol 1 + 2 (grades 4-6 social studies).

Rivers West is commited to the development of a greenway along Manitoba’s Red River as part of its overall plan to develop the Red River corridor as a destination. Manitoba’s greenway is part of a larger international initiative to develop a greenway along the Red from Lake Traverse in South Dakota to Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba.

Rivers West has been working with the Manitoba Floodway Authority and the province of Manitoba to develop a greenway along the Red.
